PRO TALK: Architectures for Successful Continuous Delivery in a Multi-Cloud World
The cloud takeover is in full force – but how businesses leverage cloud in a hybrid and multi-cloud world is often still a murky topic. No one cloud is perfect, and organizations still need to plan for supporting and migrating legacy applications. Enterprises in particular also face challenges of how to drive a common compliance and security strategy across multi-cloud and on-prem deployment. Furthermore – cloud is not just an “IT Ops Thang” - it’s a core consideration for DevOps success! In fact, according to the 2018 DevOps Research and Assessment State of DevOps Report companies that “do cloud right” are 23 times more likely to be elite DevOps performers!  This talk will explore how businesses can think more broadly about how to architect CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and applications to leverage the benefits of today’s hybrid and multi-cloud reality. We’ll cover some key concepts that will help you achieve Continuous Delivery success, including: · Five key cloud practices you might not be leveraging · Strategies for building pipelines that enable the five keys to doing cloud right  · Managing software delivery for cloud-native and traditional teams · How to standardize security and compliance across legacy and cloud-native delivery pipelines · Considerations for future proofing your pipelines and release processes

PRO TALK: Creating Platform Agnostic Packages That Can Run Anywhere
One of the dreams of development is to build a software package once, then be able to deploy it anywhere. With current Open Source projects this dream is closer than ever. Come to this talk to learn how to create software packages that run (almost) anywhere. You will see how the same application can be run on bare metal, on a VM, or in a container - with everything needed to automate that application already built into the package itself. This even works with a mixed infrastructure - metal for your static compute heavy loads, vms for your persistent data stores, and ephemeral short lived containers for you applications managed by Kubernetes or other container scheduling services. Come to this talk to also learn how to build and deploy these packages with the intelligence to self organize into topologies, no central orchestrator needed. Learn how the dream of platform agnostic and self organizing packages is fulfilled today and where it will evolve in the future.

PRO TALK: Outcome Driven Development Planning
Most organizations and groups focus on outputs of work. What is the team working on and how does that align with our product vision? This stunts innovation and in the end we are not utilizing team members for what you hired them for: to be engineers. Let's focus on outcome vs output planning and how we can drive focused efforts and creativity as an organization.
