Ballerina is a new open source cloud-native programming language that is designed to write microservices while maintaining reliability, scalability, observability, and security. It is a compiled, transactional, statically and strongly typed programming language with textual and graphical syntaxes. Docker and Kubernetes are key elements of modern cloud-native deployment automation. After building your microservices, common practice is to create docker images and create YAML files to automate the deployment with Docker and Kubernetes. Writing these YAMLs, Dockerfile descriptors are really painful and error-prone. Ballerina is natively understood the Docker and Kubernetes and able to generate deployment artifacts while compiling the source code. This session will explore how Ballerina specialize on writing cloud-native application and orchestrating into Kubernetes.
